All The Best Moves apre l’album e sembra riprendere quella gioiosa energia già espressa nella precedente occasione. Non c’è modo migliore di cominciare questa nuova avventura insieme, “Get me a car, get me a limousine / And take me out to the music scene / On second thoughts I saw this thing on the news / Kids getting killed for the shoes that they chose / Sometimes life’s meant to pass you by / We’re all so small look at the size of the sky“. Una canzone con un accompagnamento ricco e vario che mostra il talento del duo, “Got a one way ticket now you marauder / There’s nothing left for you round here / I’m not gonna mend your broken pieces anymore / With a little luck you might come down / With a little luck you might come back to me“. Una canzone decisamente leggera e divertente, nello spirito di questi cantautori, “I’m gonna mess you up, just like spaghetti / I’m gonna fill my cup up to the limit / Gonna suck you down, just like spaghetti / Can you see my crown, don’t you forget it / I’vе been working you, well I’ll take the minutеs / I’ll be turning this town upside down for years, for years, oh“. Momento nostalgia con Old TV Shows con Andy che si alterna con Tom. Un brano poetico e un po’ malinconico ma risollevato dal ritornello orecchiabile, “Oh, come look at us now / A broken record will last forever / You couldn’t pick us out of the crowd / When it worked just couldn’t miss us / It’s over like top of the pops / Just a day the time’s had its way with / Over and over we’d lay / Memories like old TV shows“. “There’s a warm rain, are you feeling alright? / Well, I know it ain’t easy when you can’t sleep at night / There’s a band playing and they don’t give you peace / Well, I know it ain’t easy when the noises won’t cease“. Bottle Tops è un altro brano fresco che richiama le sonorità del gruppo di Smith ma con un’atmosfera meno cupa, “Untie, she’s with the bottle tops, then / Hope that you’ll notice me when you do it’ll all come clear / I’m on my own you see, just for the moment baby / I’ll be your one and only, I’ll die a happy man“. I Want You Back In My Life è una canzone d’amore malinconica ma ricca di quella speranza che questi due artisti sanno sempre regalare, “Get me out of this hole / Too much of me with myself and I’m in trouble / All the clouds are grey and the wind has the bitter bite / All I know is I want you back in my life“. Decisamente più pop Aimee Move On. Un’altra bella canzone che sa emozionare, “I was the worst, I was the best / No, I was the best of the worst of the rest / Don’t make them miss the chances wе missed / Wouldn’t it be wonderful if I wasn’t such a fool / Stеp outside, howl at the moon“. Buone sensazioni emergono da ogni singola nota,”Please, we don’t have forever / Play a song, play a song that keeps this together / It’s too late now / Don’t be hard on yourself, just ‘cause everything’s over / It’s too late now / Don’t be hard on your brothers or hard on your sisters“. Si chiude con Straight Up Like A Mohican. You and me, we’re probably thinking the same thing / Like where did it all go wrong? / Making me feel alive and suddenly I don’t know why / Where did it all go wrong?“.
